Dunno but I have aftermarket Aiwa CD players (which say Sony on the bottom) in both my Galaxy and Hyundai and they have a line in that we use for iPod. Works fine :)

I have a 40GB IPOD that has completely replaced my 6-CD changer and the radio - what an invention. Only problem is exactly the topic of this chat, a proper connection!

I want a flawless Bluetooth connection with no ungainly wires; when is that coming? I've had Belkin and Griffin FM transmitters and it was only when I got the tape plug-in I realized just how poor FM transmitters really are - convenient but kills 40% of the sound quality! However the 2 different tape plug-ins (no-name and subsequently SONY) both occasionally (increasingly!) trigger the auto-reverse function of my factory sound system and no sound comes out when it's on side B!

As advise to those of you who are thinking of going IPOD - don't hesitate, it's unbelievable. Then forget about the FM transmitters, consider the tape plug-in and if you have problems like me, consider one of the costly direct connection kits. So far I've only seen a kit "ICE Link Plus" that cost around USD 240 which I find a bit on the high side for a cable so I'll keep canvassing the market. Meantime I am secretly hoping Apple comes with a Bluetooth version I could link up via a mobile phone Bluetooth connection kit but I'm not willing to wait, the IPOD is that good!
